Roy Tokerud was born and raised on a wheat-barley-cattle farm in Montana. He was the youngest son of Torvald Tokerud and his wife Sina Sakariasen Tokerud. His brothers and sisters included Toralf, Harold, Mabel, Leta and Alys and half-brother
