Psyched about the Apple Music Store!
Reservations aside,
it's an absolute blast to surf around the new store. They've implemented the
people who bought this bought that feature. I need that. Better is the unexpected feature that shows you for each album you select, the top downloads for that artist. Here's what I saw in the last two minutes of surfing:
- Select Music Store in iTunes
- Choose Genre (19 genres from alternative to world) - pick rock
- Scroll horizontally through albums in the Staff Favorites pane. I like seeing the album cover art in 3/4" miniatures, helps me scan quickly and remember albums I own and get a feel for ones I've never heard
- Ah, here's one to check - Listen Like Thieves by INXS - click
- Listen Like Thieves sells for $9.99 and lists all the cuts. But let me look at the Top Downloads section, #1 Need You Tonight isn't even on this album - click
- Oh, I already have this album - Kick. double-click Need You Tonight - hey, I already own it, and it's pretty good. Good discovery
- And Listeners who bought this also bought: The Very Best of Sting & the Police - click
- Ooh, looking good. It's got 18 songs for $9.99. Hmmm... what are the Top Downloads? #1 January Stars - click
- Double-click to listen to the first 30 seconds. This is an exclusive. I like the cover art. There are only two songs on this little release but it still has original cover art. Nice... I like this game
